Graphene and 2D magnetic materials: Transfer and heterostructures

 

Since the first discovery of atomically thin monolayer of graphene in 2004, enormous researches have been performed to (i) improve the quality of large-area graphene for industrial use and to (ii) explore new 2D materials. In the case of 2D materials beyond graphene, in addition to semiconducting transition metal dichalcogenides, compounds exhibiting collective electron phases, such as charge density waves, superconductivity, and magnetism, have recently been stabilized down to single or few atomic layers. Not only are the 2D states different from their bulk counterparts, the incorporation of such materials into novel heterostructures will allow for the development of multifunctional electronic devices.

Here, I present the previous researches based on the transfer process of large-area 2D graphene in the first part and then introduce my recent achievements about 2D magnets.
