▷ 제목: Enzymatic conversion of C1 gas inspired by ancient microbial
▷ 내용: The escalating crisis of global climate change, exacerbated by the massive emissions of carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels, has transcended into a severe global climate emergency. To combat this issue, strategies to achieve 'carbon neutrality'—curbing the net increase in carbon dioxide emissions—are critical. Given the alarming rate of around 54 billion tons of carbon dioxide being emitted annually, fueling global warming, the urgent development and deployment of novel technologies is imperative. These technologies need to efficiently transform carbon emissions into beneficial materials or store them securely for an extended duration.
In our presentation, we will delve into the feasibility of mimicking the Wood-Ljungdahl pathway, a natural process some organisms use to absorb atmospheric carbon dioxide. We'll examine the essential biological catalysts for this process and the specific qualities they must possess for effective carbon sequestration. Finally, we will present various applications of enzymatic reactions for carbon conversion, as developed and explored by our research team.
