Polymer-coated surfaces for biomedical applications

There has been a surge of interest in the development of functional ultrathin polymer coats on various substrates for biomedical applications. Some of them are already in the market or under development in great anticipation. In my talk, I will present several examples of ultrathin polymer films developed in my lab, enabling various biomedical applications, including anti-biofilm surface on medical devices, intracellular delivery of biological cargo, long-term culture of primary neuron, formation of 3D cancer stem cell spheroids, and so on. A major focus will be given to polymer thin film platform that enables generation of highly tumorigenic 3D cell spheroids from diverse human cancer cells.
